2020 camp update:
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis SYO has cancelled the 2020 music camp and concert. Students will have the opportunity to present Pictures At An Exhibition at a later date.
SYO Orchestra Camp 2020 – 03-05/04/2020 – Pictures at an Exhibition
Each year the SYO hosts an open Orchestra camp for young musicians in the Shoalhaven to come together to rehearse over the weekend and develop their skills, make new friends and have a heap of fun culminating in a big performance at the end of the weekend.
The camp involves intensive rehearsals of orchestral music with our Maestro John Dunstan and expert tutors in orchestral instruments and performance.
The overnight camp allows students to meet new friends with similar interests and be involved in orchestral playing they may not usually be exposed to.
This year students will be learning and performing repertoire from Ravel’s orchestral arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
Registrations for camp are available through this page or, for more information, please contact us. Places are limited. NSW Creative Kids Voucher payment options are available.
“When I play the cello it helps me express my feelings. Learning the cello was not easy at first, but I soon came to enjoy it and think of no other instrument! SJS and my teachers guided me to play with others to make music.”
